Memorial Baptist Church had it’s start on a muddy Temple street in the summer of 1890 with a handful of individuals with a dream for a church. Dr. John Hill Luther, retired President of the University of Mary Hardin Baylor and father of the first Southern Baptist Missionary to Brazil, envisioned a church that would be a mission centered, evangelistic, loving fellowship with its arms held open wide to Temple and Bell County. That dream and vision has become a reality.

Since that summer in 1890, the Lord has honored the commitment and dedication of His people:

• Over 5,000 souls have made professions of faith
• Over $1.5 million has been given to missions
• 3700 Radio Broadcasts beginning in 1939, reaching a potential cumulative audience of 170 million people.

The past has been incredible, the present is wonderful and the future is exciting. We hope you come visit us.
