I am extremely proud of the Memorial Baptist family. I see God busting out all over the place. Many of you are experiencing once again the refreshment of revival and the spiritual growth that comes through seeking God for Himself, not just His incredible gifts. Thank you for all of your prayers for our church and community. You are making a difference.
Thank you for going out with us a couple of weeks ago as we canvassed our neighborhood and hung door hangers on doors all over the neighborhood. Please mark your calendars and begin making plans to attend Vacation Bible School June 6-10, 2010. I am praying for one hundred volunteers to help out by serving the children who come to VBS. This will be an incredible church-wide event. We need everyone to come and participate. We need servants to take pictures, help with refreshments, teachers and teacher’s aides, greeters, givers, security, parking, etc. There is something for everyone to do. We are hoping to reach out to 250 children. Please talk to Shawna Winn or Candice Pearson if you want to volunteer.
When we work together in His kingdom, we accomplish many things simultaneously. Things like...we get to know one another better by building relationships, we show the world that we love each other, we display for all to see that we are one body, we put some points on the board for His kingdom, and we minister in the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish this God-sized task. I am looking forward to being blessed as I partner with y’all.
We have many opportunities to Love God by Loving Others. God is so very good and gives us each day, just what we need. Let’s celebrate life and share the joy that Jesus Christ brings into our lives with one another. I would ask you to pray that God would provide for our proposed playground and equipment. Our children need good facilities, too. Every person is important. We also desire to send a strong message to the people outside our church body that we love children and we want them to be here. By investing in a first class playground, we are telling young parents that we care about their children. The proposal by our playground committee would cost about $70,000. This does not include fencing. We will want to do something nice with the fencing as well, something that is consistent with our first class facility.
As you pray, don’t forget to lift up our mission trip to the Mtopanga, Mombasa, Kenya in July. We are one body, and everyone needs to be a part of this missionary effort. We need the entire church sending these missionaries into Africa! There are three very real ways you can partner and participate. You can Pray! You can Give! And you can Go! The Kenya Team has about 10 members who will be going to build a relationship with the Revival Baptist Church and assist in helping build a restroom facility with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Pray for boldness in witnessing, that each one would have the opportunity to lead someone to Jesus Christ, and that God would be glorified as brothers and sisters worship Him!
Please pray for the Native American Baptist Fellowship and Brother Ed Hernandez daily. Pray for our Long Range Planning Committee and the resolutions that they presented at our April business meeting, as they continue to seek God’s vision for Memorial. Keep up the great ministry of visiting our Homebound members and the souls who visit our worship services! Is this great or what? I love working and investing in the kingdom of God!
If any of you are available on Wednesdays evenings,
please join us for our Fellowship meal at 5 PM in our fellowship hall. I love
you and God loves you!
Grace and peace to you,
Your friend,
Ridge
